SMART LOCK A MUST USE FEATURE IN ANDROID

Since Apple has introduced face ID everybody has been amazed by it. But they have to use a dedicated hardware to make more accurate. Face ID is not a new technology, It has been used in many devices such as Dell XPS 13 which has been launched in 2017 which works perfectly.On other hands, Samsung uses IRIS scanner to unlock the phone which accurate as well as quick.

iPhone may be more secure than Android but it lacks many features. Android gives you more power to handle your smartphone easily. On iPhone, you need enter password every time but Android gives you feature to avoid entering the password every time. 

The feature is called SMART LOCK. This is usually available on stock Android. To use it go to settings => security =>smart lock. This feature contains following options:

1. On-body detection
2. Trusted places
3. Trusted devices
4. Trusted face
5. Trusted voice

      

1. On-body detection:

This feature allows you to unlock once and your device stays unlocked as long as it's in motion, like when you're holding or carrying your device. Your device will lock when it detects that it's been set down.

2. Trusted places:

This feature allows you to set a location where you usually stay and feel safe to put your phone unlocked. You only have to select a particular location on the map. Whenever you are in that location it will be unlocked and you don't have to enter the password every time as long as you stay at that place.

3. Trusted device:

This feature allows you to add trusted Bluetooth devices to keep your phone unlocked when connected. The devices can be the Bluetooth watch or your car's Bluetooth system.

4. Trusted face:

This feature scans your face and uses it to unlock the phone.The feature works perfectly in light but does not work when the low light. The reason is it does not use dedicated hardware as in iPhone to scan your face. It uses the front camera which has basic hardware system.

When you put your locked phone in front of your face it will start to detect your face. You can see a symbol of a profile at bottom center. If it fails it will ask you to use fingerprint scanner or pin to unlock.

5. Trusted voice:

The feature allows you to unlock your phone using your voice. You have to add your voice to the Google assistant to recognize you by saying "Ok Google". To use this feature you have to use the power button to activate the screen then you can say "Ok Google" to unlock. As soon as it unlocks Google assistant will pop up.

      

In conclusion, these features are useful in your daily life to make easy access to your phone. iPhone is more secure than Android because Android is an open-source platform where IOS doesn't.
